She has been outspoken in the need for more information and education when it comes to hair texture and how different hair textures and styles are approached and a greater need to teach that a “one size fits all” approach to hair is less than ideal….

Sometimes it’s easy to forget where we’re going, and even easier to forget where we came from.
We get so caught up in living day to day life, sometimes the stress can overwhelm us and we focus on the “right now” rather than the bigger picture. There are so many things that factor into a person’s life and reactivity; their job, their home, their bills, their family, their children, or even just what is happening in the world around them.
Don’t Be Sorry
It’s the great Canadian “joke” that we apologize a lot, for everything, for things beyond our control, for minor things, for things we’re not at fault for, for things we don’t have to apologize for. So sometimes it’s just ingrained in us. Other times, our apologies stem from deeper life experiences, a comment that was made to us that stuck through, an idea of “how we’re supposed to be”, societal expectations and more….
