FAQs

What should I expect in the first week after my installation?

Its best to not put your hair up for the first 7-10 days, this can cause extra tension on your scalp. Putting your hair back in this time should be low at the back of your neck. Sleep with a low braid to avoid tension while sleeping.

Can I wash my hair like usual?

Brush out extensions with a WetBrush prior to getting into the shower. This will help with tangles and possible matting. Shampoo and condition gently between each row. Ensure your shampoo and conditioner are sulfate and paraben free.

fter you shower, spray with a conditioning detangle spray and apply a light weight oil or serum. When brushing start from the bottom and work your way up. Be sure to hold the weft with one hand and brush gently. Alway brush from the top and underneath to avoid matting.

Squeeze your hair and blot with a towel – DON’T rub your hair! Make sure to lift up and rinse each section of your hair to ensure proper rinsing has occurred.

How do I protect my hair when I sleep?

It’s recommended to braid your hair or put in a low bun for sleep. It’s also best to sleep on a silk pillowcase. Cotton pillowcases cause frizziness and split ends over time. Silk pillowcases are much more gentle on the face and hair

When I style my hair, should I do someting specific?

Apply desired styling products. Power dry hair 80% of the way. Do not tug or pull on the extensions with a brush or comb while the hair is soaking wet. Use your hands only and be sure to dry the connection points thoroughly.

Hair has more elasticity when wet and to keep your extensions from sliding out ALL brush styling should be done after the hair is almost dry.

Please remember:

  • no oiling scalp

  • clarifying shampoo necessary 1- 2 weeks

  • no direct heat on bonds

  • heat protectant used for any heat styling

What can I do to protect my hair while swimming?

Wet your hair before getting into the pool / ocean / lake, etc. After wetting, apply a leave in conditioner or hair mask. Comb your conditioner or mask through your hair, then braid it or put it in a tight bun or pony. Rinse your hair immediately after swimming.

I’m getting keratin bonds is the after care the same?

Yes although there are a few differences:

Avoid long term contact with styling products that contain oils and alcohols.

  • Avoid shampooing and conditioning the hair for a minimum of 48 hours after application.

  • Avoid bending or pulling the hair back for 24 hours. The bonds continue to harden and reach optimum strength after 24 hours.

  • It’s normal to lose up to 10 bonds during the first few weeks after installation. Keep the hair in a safe place to be reinstalled if necessary.
