It’s September…you know what that means!
PSL! PSL! PSL! Haha! I’m kidding, kinda. Considering Pumpkin Spiced Lattes were brought back in August….it’s out there! My own take on PSL> I don’t drink coffee, and I loathe the pumpkin flavour shot at Timmies but I LOVE pumpkin pie. So don’t bring me a pumpkin drink but I WILL take a pumpkin pie any day and all day long!
In Canada, school is officially back in and kids are off to classes. And it’s all about fresh hair cuts, new hairdos, adding in some colour and smiling faces! As my own kids are now grades 11, 10, 8 and 2…it’s really getting to me this year. I vividly remember being in grade 11, I remember the feelings and thoughts and things that happened. I remember how GROWN I felt and it really made me think about how my kids aren’t babies anymore.
And then, of course, social media is rampant with BTS shots of everyone’s kids. And I get excited for all of them. Some of the kids I’ve never even met, but through the magic of social media and groups, I’ve “watched” these children grow up. So I’m over here scrolling….
”aww little Mikey is starting high school already!? I remember when he lost his first tooth”
”Wow, look how grown little Emma is and starting JK already!? Wasn’t she just born?”
”How exciting for Timothy - last year of high school…where did the time go?”
Maybe it’s because I empathically put myself in all of their parents shoes; those feelings of excitement and awe, and happy sadness, as they age in their parenting role and they come into new scenarios of parenthood.
Anyone else feel like this?
